Frase vs Writesonic: Pricing and Workflow Comparison (2026)

BY selvethhqSTART READING ↓

This guide compares published prices, billing commitments, and workflow requirements. It offers a trial checklist rather than a tested winner for content quality.

Frase or Writesonic? Start with the work you need to complete and the billing commitment you can accept. A research brief, an editable article, and an AI-visibility report are different deliverables; a useful trial should establish which steps your subscription covers.

This version compares current vendor-published plans. It does not rank output quality or present an independently verified hands-on test. Our evaluation suggestions below are editorial recommendations, not measured results.

Pricing: compare the same billing commitment

Frase plan Month-to-month Monthly equivalent, billed yearly Writesonic plan Monthly equivalent, billed annually
Starter $49 $39 Starter $79
Professional $129 $103 Basic $199
Scale $299 $239 Growth $399
Enterprise Custom Custom Enterprise Custom

Rows align plan positions for navigation, not equivalent feature bundles. The reviewed Writesonic plan cards explicitly label these amounts as annual billing. They should not be quoted as month-to-month prices. Check its monthly selector for a current monthly subscription quote.

Frase identifies its prices as USD; Writesonic displays a dollar symbol; the currency code was not confirmed in this check. Do not treat the two columns as a verified same-currency cost comparison. Confirm checkout currency, taxes, and the full commitment before purchasing. Prices and the feature allowances discussed below were checked in the official pricing-page plan descriptions on September 7, 2026: Frase pricing and Writesonic pricing.

What to evaluate in Frase

Frase Starter lists one seat, one site, 10 articles and 50 audit pages monthly. Professional increases those allowances to three seats, five sites, 40 articles and 250 audit pages monthly. Its platform includes research, drafting, optimization, and CMS publishing. The page advertises a seven-day trial without a credit card.

Evaluation focus: follow a topic through research, drafting, revision, and export. Check which steps require your input and whether the resulting article meets your editorial standards.

A brief produced in one workflow does not establish that the product only creates outlines. Review Frase’s included capabilities.

What to evaluate in Writesonic

Writesonic Starter lists 15 AI articles monthly, one user and one project. It includes monitoring for ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, with 50 prompts and 50 answers tracked daily. Basic lists 25 articles monthly and larger tracking allowances. The page offers a free trial without a credit card.

Evaluation focus: check the editing required after generation and whether the monitoring scope is useful for your audience. Test access is not proof that every workflow is included without limits; review the plan’s trial-run allowances.

An included article count cannot establish factual accuracy or publishable quality. Review Writesonic’s current plans.

Which one should you shortlist?

For a single-site workflow, evaluate the entry plans before paying for team capacity you may not use. For multiple editors or websites, write down those requirements before comparing the headline price.

If AI-answer monitoring matters, compare supported platforms, refresh frequency, reporting, and the distinction between a prompt and an observed answer. Do not assume similarly named allowances measure identical things.

If article production is the main need, judge the complete process: research, writing, source verification, revisions, and export. The better fit is the tool that reduces your verified editing workload while meeting your requirements. This comparison has not measured that outcome.

A practical trial checklist

Use a topic you understand well enough to check. Give each tool the same audience, intended deliverable, source requirements, and target keyword, then record the actual workflow used.

  • Save the full prompt, selected features, plan, date, and unedited output.
  • Separate time spent configuring the task from generation and editing time.
  • Check each price, statistic, quotation, and product claim against its source.
  • Record missing information and the changes needed before publication.
  • Repeat with a second topic before drawing broader conclusions.

When comparing a brief with a full draft, assess whether you selected equivalent workflows first. Different outputs may reflect different task settings rather than a product limitation.

FAQ

Does a higher content score mean the article will rank?

A score alone cannot establish that. Evaluate relevance and accuracy, then assess actual performance after publication.

Can I use the tools together?

You can evaluate a process that uses one for planning and another for drafting. Include both subscription costs and the time spent transferring material; this article does not establish that a combined setup performs better.

Should I publish an AI-generated draft immediately?

Review it first. Check its sources, usefulness, originality, and factual claims, regardless of which tool generated it.
